Born in Philadelphia, Ed Pearson has lived in the Boston area for most of his adult life. When not in the woods bothering
the trees, he works as a software engineer. He has also been a musician, a gas station attendant, and a dishwasher.
Artist's Statement:
As a photographer my first love was, and still is, the New England landscape. But while I love a mountaintop vista or
rocky coastline as much as the next person, my greatest joy is to find the small beauties that live in the less spectacular
places; in the small sanctuaries and reservations that dot our landscape, in the median strips of our highways, or in the
open corridors where the power lines pass.
In abandoned factories and farms, or in the vast emptiness of a mall parking lot at sunset, I have gone looking for
ugliness, and found something else entirely.
Look closely; there is always something worth seeing.
