when all of Hollywood gathered in Danville,
Kentucky to make a movie about Henry County,
Indiana. A movie based on the classic novel by
Hoosier author Ross Lockridge Jr. about his real
life family dating back to the early 1800's. A movie
about the mythical tree planted by Johnny
Appleseed from a single and unique seed from
which would grow the magical Raintree, the finder
of which would know true happiness and life
fulfillment. See the stars of the film as never
before...read stories about days on the set that
summer when Hollywood came to Danville. Hear
about the real life Indiana pioneers and places the
story was based on. Read an eye-witness account
of the assassination of President Lincoln. Follow
Lincoln's funeral train as it passes through Indiana
and see new and vintage photos of the place that
came to be called Raintree County.
