Wednesday's show saw the removal of Phil and Chris. Only 4 contestants left! Who
will win American Idol 2007? My guess is Melinda Doolittle.

Juan Montoya gets first Nascar penalty
Tuesday May 2, 2007
Juan Pablo Montoya got his first glimpse of NASCAR's heavy hand when the
first-year driver was fined $10,000 for making an obscene gesture on live television.
Montoya raised his middle finger to the camera mounted inside his car after a
practice session two races ago in Phoenix. He said the gesture was a joke with the
TV crew that had been following him the past month for an ABC News special.
But the feed was live, and NASCAR penalizes drivers who use obscene language
or gestures on TV. So Montoya received his first punishment since leaving Formula
One to join NASCAR last summer. He also was placed on probation through the
end of the year. The Colombian apologized for the gesture and doesn't want to
discuss it.

Get ready for $4 gasoline
May 7, 2007
With gas prices near record highs, experts say $4-a-gallon gasoline is
just around the corner.
"I think it's going to happen," said Phil Flynn, a senior market analyst at
Alaron Trading in Chicago. "Unless things change dramatically, I think
we're going to see $4 a gallon." Already, prices in California average
$3.48 a gallon, according to the motorist organization AAA. And one
service station in San Francisco was charging $3.95, according to
GasBuddy.com, a handy site that lists the cheapest and most expensive
gas stations by city and state across the country.

Refinery problems and strong demand are the two main reasons cited
for the runup. Prices hit a record high of $3.07 a gallon, according to the
Lundberg survey released Sunday.
