War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children. Jimmy Carter
I'm fed up to the ears with old men dreaming up wars for young men to die in. ~George McGovern
To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public. ~Theodore Rooselvelt
If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace. Thomas Paine
Photographs of those who chose to defend our country. Here's to our servicemen and servicewomen who fight to keep us safe and build a better world for our children and their children. Freedom has and never will be free.

Ours is a world of nuclear giants and ethical infants. We know more about war than we know about peace, more about killing than we know about living. We have grasped the mystery of the atom and rejected the Sermon on the Mount. Omar Bradley~
